Island Christian School held its Baccalaureate Service Wednesday evening, May 26, 7 PM in the Island Community Church Auditorium. senior . Mr. Tony Hammon, Superintendent of ICS and Senior Pastor of Island Community Church, addressed the 4 seniors, families, and friends. Immediately following this service, the 4 seniors received their mortarboard caps during the capping ceremony. Each senior selected a person who has been instrumental in his or her years here at ICS to present the cap.
Graduation for the ICS Class of 2010 was held Thursday evening, May 27, again at 7 PM. Mr. Beeler, school chaplain, shared personal highlights of each senior. The Island Christian School Class of 2010 has 4 students. This compares to 8 from last year and is under the average size for graduating classes from the school. The seniors are required to meet higher standards than are required by the Florida state guidelines for a diploma. Of this year's graduates, all 4 have been accepted into colleges within the state of Florida. Mrs. Mary Allman, Academic Dean, presented numerous scholarships during the graduation ceremony. Over $128,650 in awards were presented by local organizations and colleges. This is an average of $32,000 per senior!
