Mrs. Young is our art instructor. She holds a B.Ed from the University of Miami and has studied art in Paris. She has also attended the Savannah College of Art and Design Art Educators Forum and Advanced Placement Workshops. She joined our staff in 1975 as a preschool teacher. After a break from teaching to raise her children, she returned in 1986 as our art instructor. Mrs. Young holds a teaching certificate from the state of Florida as well as through FACCS.
Here at Island Christian Mrs. Young teaches our art classes for students in grades 2-12 including AP Art. She has also lead our drama classes and was our cheerleading coach.
Mrs. Young is member of the Florida Keys Council for the Arts and the Purple Isles Arts Guild.
Mrs. Young has also been involved with the AWANA program at Island Community Church as well as a Nursery volunteer and a small group coordinator.
