  • Student athlete must be enrolled as a full time student at Island Christian School.
  • Student athlete must be a US citizen or meet the current visa requirements as stated by FHSAA.
  • Student athlete must submit a yearly FHSAA physical form. The physical must be completed after the stated date posted on the FHSAA web-site of the preceding school year and one day BEFORE the first official practice of the desired sports season.
  • Student athlete and parents must sign and submit the FHSAA Consent and Release from Liability Certificate for Concussion and Heat-Related Illness form.  These must be on file in the school office at least one day prior to the first practice.
  • Student athletes in grades 9 - 12 must maintain a cumulative 2.25 grade point average on a 4.0 un-weighted scale through the end of the previous semester as required by Florida Statutes. Any student not maintaining the appropriate cumulative 2.25 grade point average for a semester will be academically ineligible for the next full semester (18 weeks). The Headmaster, athletic director, and coaches of ICS reserve the right to rule a student ineligible for other reasons even though the 2.25 average has been maintained. Refer to FHSAA 11.2.1 – 11.2.14 for complete ruling.
  • Student athletes must enroll in school within 10 days of the beginning of each semester to be eligible during that semester.
  • Student athlete must display good sportsmanship and follow the rules of competition before, during and after every contest in which he/she participates. If not, he/she may be suspended from participation for a period of time.
  • All athletes must have personal accident insurance with their families. Island Christian School carries a secondary accident insurance to assist with injuries AFTER the family’s primary insurance pays. Families without insurance need to contact the business office to make arrangements to purchase a student accident policy.
  • Players must be at all practices. Excused absences will be given for the same reasons as for absences from class or approved by the coach when notified in advance. Conditioning make-up exercises may be required for all absences. Unexcused absences from practice may result in removal from the team.If a student is absent from school, they may not participate in practice unless approved by the Headmaster.
  • If a student athlete chooses to participate in any other league sport, arrangements need to be made with the Island Christian School coach prior to the beginning of the school season. FHSAA does regulate some league play during the school sport season and may determine seasonal eligibility. In addition, any possible conflict of schedules will need to be determined prior to the season’s beginning.
  • Players are to set leadership standards for their life. Athletes are often looked to as leaders and examples.
  • Becoming a team member requires a commitment of time and energy from the student athlete.  If an athlete chooses to discontinue participation with a team, he or she must receive approval from the Athletic Director and Headmaster prior to trying out for or joining another team.
